Start betting on yourself

And if you don’t like it, that’s okay too. It’s not going to be for everyone. In fact, it’s not FOR everyone. It’s made with our taste, tone, and sense of humor, and it exists to find others who share our sensibility.
Is it perfect? Definitely not. There’s plenty of things I’d change if I could go back and do it again.
But in the end, no matter how the project does, it’s a success for one simple reason.
The only definition of success I care about is whether or not we put into the world the thing we had in our heads. And Tara and I did that.
We committed, bet on ourselves, and something really special happened: the world moved to help us.
There’s power in committing.
When Tara and I committed to making this series, we started talking to people about it. And the more you talk about what you’re doing (as you’re actually doing it), the more the universe conforms to help you.
All sorts of amazing things begin to happen. Your unconscious mind will solve problems for you while you sleep. People will come out of the woodwork to help you. People will share THEIR ideas, and it will help make YOUR ideas better.
There is incredible power in committing. Here’s one of my favorite quotes on it, with the emphasis my own:
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too.
All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. The universe rewards courage, and those who bet on themselves. Don’t believe me? Try it.
Bet on yourself.
The world is changing so fast, some days it feels impossible to keep up. Technology, the world order, the internet, entire industries — everything is in flux and nothing is forever.
And the truth is, there’s no one coming to save you. Your boss can’t save you. Your employer can’t save you. Your partner can’t save you.
In a world of infinite leverage, infinite knowledge (AI), and machines capable of doing any job that’s not based on judgment and uncertainty, YOU must create the life you want.
So bet on yourself and commit to something. It almost doesn’t matter what you commit to, as long as you are the only person who can do it.
That’s what Tara and I did. No one else could have made this series like we did. And that’s the secret to surviving in a world run by AI.
